Is Your Life A Pigpen?

What Will Cause Your Personal Mutiny?

Balanced Effort

It's Not All About The Money

Do you have a Pigpen life? Not the animal pen but as in the Peanuts gang character. Remember him?  He is surrounded in a swirling cloud of dust and grime, even when standing perfectly still.

I acknowledge that many of us (including me) have gone through trouble in our lives.  However, in a pigpen life, problems and trouble follow the person from one thing to another eventually becoming a collection of life experiences that eventually form an identity.

Yes, just like Pigpen.  You, however do not have to be created by another person as is necessary for the cartoon figure.  You have the freedom to Self-Create your life and make your life with what you already have.  However, you first have to untie the knots you put there yourself.

If you follow your old, mental processes along for any reason or purpose, you will stay right where you are.  There is an appropriate term for a pigpen life – wallowing. You cannot Self-Create your life if you try to stack it on top of all the trouble you keep alive in your mind.

You don’t have a single cell in your body with ancient history trademarks.  The pain from those skinned knees is a dying ember.  A broken heart and promises are like the boring novel you forgot from literature class.  No matter how hard you try to catch a reality based on stuff that happened, your imaginary net is useless.

If you are constantly reviewing and investigating problems that seem to frequently bubble up in your life, its simply up to you to cease talking about the troubles you have and realize that you don’t have to be sketched by anyone.  When those in my Possibility Sessions have that realization they don’t have to buy into the image others have sketched, I begin to have the most fun as a Possibilities Coach.

If you are among those who remain tethered, mine may be a life beyond your imagination.  Therefore, you may find it difficult to relate to a life of unrestricted possibilities and cannot imagine that you can Self-Create the life you envision.

Or perhaps the only life you envision is your pigpen life.  But do you think sometimes about leaving that life behind?  Well, that’s enough for me to get really excited about your possibilities.  And trust me, that will rub off on you!

I once had a life from which I wanted to escape and used to believe that I needed to fill my life but I didn’t know with what to fill it.  Now all my choices are to nourish my life, not fill it.

What happened in my life and many similar individuals was an occurrence brought about by an awakening that enabled us to then nourish our own courses of development.  Of course, that only happened once we ceased wallowing and refused to be sketched.

In Possibility Coaching, why you feel the way you do, what type of childhood you had, what you have done in the past, why you think you can’t untether your life, or how much money you have are insignificant.   I understand that you can’t explain exactly how you feel or understand how to turn your life and that actually makes it easier for you to take the leap away from attachment.

It is sort of when your back itches in a place you can’t reach and you have to solicit help from a friend to scratch it.  Think about that itching sensation and how good it feels when fingernails find the exact spot.  But your friend has no idea where to begin scratching and you are not much help. Even you can’t describe exactly where the itchy spot is. At times, you tell your friend, “Its right there” and then it’s not.

It’s very likely you don’t rely on past itching as a basis for finding where to scratch now but you eventually work your way through it.  How?  You just let go to the itch and lead yourself to the spot where you will say “aaaah”.  This is what disengaging from your own self-limiting feels like.

You will discover me to be well-mannered and compassionate regarding your claims of old troubles but unaccepting of the past as reality.  Why?  Because of the typical response and realization from these questions:  Have you ever had extreme pain from a serious injury?  How about from a toothache?  Appendicitis?  Compound fracture?  Can you show me right now how much it hurt those years ago?

I know it must have really hurt.  But no matter how clearly you try to convey the extreme pain to me, it’s unlikely I will be able to know it to the degree you felt it at the time it occurred.  Although it absolutely happened and you remember it was painful, just like me you can’t make it feel it the same now and that’s whether it was an injury, a broken heart, or other emotional loss.  One of my mentors once told me, “If you want to drink clear water, don’t stomp around in the stream.” At the time, I was frequently back-packing and misunderstood.  When I realized the wisdom, I couldn’t stop smiling.

I sometimes ask similar questions in my capacity as a Possibilities Coach.  Most people admit to being unable to experience the pain like it was at the time of the injury.  So, I will ask you: What does that mean?  How do you feel about those questions?  Can you show me how much you were in pain now?

Of course, it really hurt at the time.  But answers to those questions are unnecessary when self-creating your life.  I prefer to see you go straight ahead instead of limiting your possibilities. Self-Creating Life is not a creation or system; it is your own self-delivery which implies that you cannot stay at anchor.  You succeed because you have been unlocked.  For many of those in my Possibility Sessions, the realization is instantaneous and I remind them, “When you get the message, hang up the phone.”

It only took an instant to begin my self-creating life.  I’m not sure how or why but it’s true – most of the people I connect with are ravenous for life and on the verge of breaking out with their self-created life.  It’s still surprising to me that I immediately know how close they are and, once again, how simple it will be.   My joy and reward are inspiring and supporting them as they finish the job.

Last words on old trouble: The past is for the continuing adventure of your Self-Creating Life, not repetition.

Buon Viaggio –

Lana
